ANTI-CANCER ACTION OF THYMOQUINONE
Thymoquinone is an anti-cancer phytochemical commonly found in black cumin. In this review, we discuss the potential of thymoquinone as an anticancer molecule, its mechanism of action, and its future use in clinical applications.
Thymoquinone exhibits anticancer activity through numerous mechanisms of action, in particular by exhibiting selective antioxidant and oxidant activity, interfering with DNA structure, affecting carcinogenic molecules/signaling pathways, and immunomodulation.
The in vitro activity of thymoquinone has been further implicated in animal models of cancer. However, clinical application has not yet been demonstrated. This is the best time to focus on clinical trials to develop thymoquinone as a future drug in cancer treatment.

BENEFICIAL IN THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19
Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV-2). Currently, the management of patients with COVID-19 mainly depends on drugs including Monoclonal antibodies, Ivermectine (under investigation), hydroxychloroquine, lopinavir/ritonavir, ribavirin, remdesivir, favipiravir, umifenavir, interferon-a, interferon-b and others . In this review, the potential of Nigella sativa (black cumin seeds) to treat patients with COVID-19 was analyzed as it has been shown to possess antiviral, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticoagulant, immunomodulatory, bronchodilator, antihistaminic, antitussive, antipyretic and analgesic activities . PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and reference lists were searched to identify articles related to antiviral and other properties of N.sativa related to signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Various randomized controlled trials, pilot studies, case reports, and in vitro and in vivo studies have confirmed that N.sativa has antiviral, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, bronchodilator, antihistaminic, antitussive activities associated with the causative malignancy and signs and symptoms of COVID – 19 N. sativa could be used as adjunctive therapy along with renewed conventional drugs for the management of patients with COVID-19.
